The Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic is dedicated solely to the care of exotic pet species. We do not treat dogs, cats, or horses. Besides traditional avian and small exotic mammals, caseload includes reptiles, some small zoo collections, pot belly pigs, goats, and native wildlife including raptors. We work with local exotic animal rescues and wildlife rehabilitators. Located on the northwest side of Indianapolis, the clinic enjoys enthusiastic clientele who appreciate advanced care for their special pets.
Associates will work together with an ABVP and ECZM boarded exotic specialist, and encouraged to practice high level medicine with the possibility of becoming board certified through the practitioner route, if desired. Our support staff is excellent, and most have been employed with the clinic for three years or more.
Equipment includes microsurgical instrumentation, radiosurgery, cryosurgery, computed tomography (CT) ultrasound, endoscopy, full dentistry, in-house blood chemistry analyzers, EKG, Doppler, therapeutic laser and much more. We enjoy an excellent relationship with a number of enthusiastic and supportive local specialists; specialties include oncology, diagnostic imaging, surgery, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology and more.
We encourage all veterinarians to participate in research, publications, and teaching, both to our colleagues and outside opportunities, for example to veterinary students at Purdue University. All veterinary staff participates in twice weekly journal club, morning rounds, and monthly staff meetings
with didactic lectures and wet labs.
