Certified Veterinary Technician positions available, including Lead CVT position – Portland, Oregon
Come join us at Avian and Exotic Veterinary Care! You will be a valued member of a small staff, including Oregon’s only 2 board-certified exotics specialist veterinarians, a zoological medicine intern veterinarian, and 6 CVT’s, veterinary assistants and receptionists.
This position REQUIRES the following:
An active Oregon license as a Certified Veterinary Technician, or ability to obtain one within 1 month of starting date
Respect for the human-animal bond as it is reflected across all species
Work on some weekend days and some holidays. Typical workweek includes 3 weekdays and 1 weekend day.
Excellent customer service skills, using phone, email and in person communications
Ability to communicate using correct spelling and grammar
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Willingness to learn new technical skills and “soft skills” including interpersonal communication
Willingness to undergo a criminal background check before hire
Experience working in a private practice veterinary clinic
Lead CVT position also requires the ability to inspire, direct and instruct co-workers
Compensation/benefits package includes hourly wage of $17-22/hour (or $22-27/hour for Lead CVT position), health/dental insurance, paid time off, a continuing education fee allowance, uniforms, pet care discounts, and access to the support provided by our communications coach. The effective wage of hourly pay plus benefits equals $22.38-27.47/hour (or $27.24-32.69 for Lead CVT position).
