Who is eligible to join AEMV?
Veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants, veterinary students, veterinary technician students, and retired professionals are eligible to join.
How do I become a member?
You can sign up for an AEMV membership by going to our Become a Member page.
How long is my membership good for?
Your membership is good for one year. The AEMV membership runs from January 1-December 31. We do not prorate membership dues.
Do you offer any discounts on memberships?
We offer reduced membership rates to veterinarians located in countries where the local purchasing power is significantly different when compared to the US dollar as defined by the International Monetary Fund. Upon joining, if your country qualifies, when you select your country of origin, the price will auto-adjust to the equivalent of US $55.
Membership for individuals in emerging countries is available at a discounted rate of US $55.
Is there a discount if I’m only a member for six months before my membership renews?
No. The AEMV membership runs from January 1 – December 31. We do not prorate membership dues.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept debit cards and all major credit cards.
Can I set up automatic renewal for my membership?
Yes. Please select automatic renewal when signing up for your membership.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds on our membership or the Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine.
What happens if I let my membership lapse?
You can always renew your membership by logging into the member portal.
Lapses in membership could limit your access to our members-only materials, such as VIN rounds, disease brochures and species care guides, and the Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine.
Can I contribute to AEMV publications or speak at events as a member?
Yes! Our members are encouraged to submit articles to our Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine and speak at our yearly conference as well as host continuing education seminars.

How do I access the members-only section of the website?
Once you sign up for a membership, you’ll create a username and password, which you will use to log into the members-only section of the website.
What do I do if I forget my username or password?
You can reset your password on the Membership Login page.
